No one has ever accused me of being a long-term pl

No one has ever accused me of being a long-term planner. I’m a dreamer, with both big and small goals I constantly work towards but that always seem to shift around. ADHD brain at work I suppose. Recovering from a small surgery at home in New Zealand recently has me thinking a lot about the future and where I want to be.

One interesting facet of working as an expedition guide over the past few years is that it forces me to plan far in advance - which for me means a year ahead. Past me doesn’t like that. I hate committing, feels like a trap. Especially because if I commit, I commit; I don’t back out. Who knows what August 2027 me will want. But 38 years old me does kinda like knowing I have work. Only took 20 years of adulthood to appreciate stability and security haha!

Right now I’m trying to figure out a life in New Zealand but also guiding on expedition ships, time with my friends at family at home but also secure work, feeling creative again but also do I go back to being creative for work? I actually haven’t taken an influencer job in a long time; I needed some space from constant social media. What to do, what to do? For now I think I’m opening doors again, leaning into what I like, and seeing where the wind blows ❤️
