I’ve been quietly working away on a new project

I’ve been quietly working away on a new project I’m excited to finally share with you guy: keen to explore the Arctic? Let me help you!

For a while now I’ve been thinking about changing my work, especially as I now spend half of the year in our polar worlds guiding. I want to focus on sharing places I know very well and inspiring others to connect with them. I’ve hosted and sold trips with me in the past to Antarctica and New Zealand, and now I’m doing the same with the Arctic, a place that stole my heart and hasn’t given it back.

Polar bears. Whales. Puffins. Icebergs. Northern lights. Dynamic culture. Adventure. I mean, my god, there’s nowhere quite like it. In fact, I love it so much I’m spending the entire summer season at sea up here.

The Arctic is a huge, incredible place that you’ll never forget visiting. I’ve created a page on my website outlining all of the Arctic trips I’m offering with @adventure.canada (I’m working on most of them), and details if you’re keen to join me or venture up here one day. While up in Golden Bay, I stayed out at Rustic ReT

While up in Golden Bay, I stayed out at Rustic ReTreet, a relatively new @canopycampingescapes glamping site just outside of Takaka. Spoiler alert – it was like stepping into a fairytale. I love staying in these kinds of spaces for so many reasons. Unique, cozy, and beautiful, they’re basically a destination in and of themselves. You could just stay there and be perfectly content.

As a traveling homebody, you can probably see why these places appeal to me—and many others, too—which is why they’re super popular. Rustic ReTreet evokes a treehouse vibe but for adults.

Ten minutes out of Takaka, down some narrow backcountry roads through picturesque farmland, I felt like I had stepped into the Shire. Many locations from Lord of the Rings movies were filmed in the area. Bucolic and beautiful, with soft woodlands, pretty cows, and fruit trees everywhere, it evoked a feeling of nostalgia within me. Not that I grew up with any of that, but I’m going to run with it.

I could have easily stayed here a week and be content.
