Instagram Catch Up

Sharing is caring!

What on earth did we do before the existence of Instagram?

I held out joining the Instagram craze until May 2012; why would people intentionally add ugly vintage filters and dumb borders to low quality photos taken on their phones? What was the point?

But then I caved. I’m a snap happy photo girl at heart; what app could be more perfect for me than a photo sharing one? I’ve been traveling so much and getting bogged down with sorting, editing and sharing my photos taken with my SLR, that it could be months and months before I got around to blogging about a trip. Instagram is the perfect solution to sharing travel photos in real time.

I owe a big heap of thanks to Adventurous Kate who showed me at the Blog House how I can take and edit amazing photos right on my iPhone to share on Instagram.

And as much as I DETEST having to crop my photos down to a square size, I secretly am an Instagram fiend. I love it. I’m obsessed. I am always trying to think of new and creative ways to take a photo of something average and make it awesome. I am constantly refreshing my Instagram homepage at work when my boss isn’t looking. My day brightens with all the lovely comments and feedback I get, except the spammy ones. Boo spam.

The past month has been cray-cray. I’ve moved home from Spain, started a real person job, and traveled a bunch around the US. And…today I hit a personal milestone and hit 200 followers in Instagram! Yippee!

So I thought I’d share what I have been up to with a little Instagram catch up, inspired by the lovely Rose at the Londoner! This might be my last post for a while as Hurricane Sandy, aka Frankenstorm, blows towards us. The weathermen have predicted the end of the world for the east coast USA, well, they’ve predicted at least a lot of power outages, which might as well be the end of the world for a blogger.

Don’t forget to follow me @YoungAdventures on Instagram and keep up with my crazy adventures!

The east coast USA is preparing for a mega hurricane, aka Frankenstorm. No water left at the grocery store, so I stocked up on red wine instead. I’M READY!

  1. Such pretty photos! Love all the fall shots; I live in southern CA on the coast and don’t get much of a fall, so I love all the beautiful leaves and orange colors! I, too, have been fighting the instagram craze, but lately I’ve been breaking down and taking a few here and there. Good luck fighting Frankenstorm, glad to see you’re prepared with the important stuff! 😉

    1. thank you! I haven’t had a proper autumn in a few years, so I was really excited to be home for it this year! I am a total instagram convert now, I love it! Survived frankenstorm, only lost power for a day, phew!

  2. Great photos. I love the wedding one the best. It looks like a 70s hippy wedding with the filters. Love it!

Have you narrowed down to a few places of interest for your next adventure?

    1. yes it was that kind of wedding too, so perfect outside in rural Washington 🙂

I have narrowed it down, let’s just say I’m going somewhere VERY different from Spain 😛
