I have fond memories of Ireland. I spent a week in the Emerald Island in June of 2008, after finishing up my university study abroad year in Salamanca, Spain. Back in the day, I found a one-way flight from Madrid-Dublin-Washington D.C. with AerLingus for $200, that’s right, dollars, NOT euros. It included a 1 week stopover in Ireland, and they let me check 5 bags for free (I didn’t know how to pack back then, clearly).
Thus began my 4 year love affair with Ireland’s national airline, and Ireland too. My last night in Spain I managed to break my little canon PS camera, so I was stuck using my friend’s camera and disposables while in Ireland. After a few days in Dublin, we did a day trip out to the infamous Cliffs of Moher.
In typical Irish fashion, the weather was wretched, but it hardly diminished the beauty of the cliffs. We spent hours there posing for photos, sitting and staring out at the sea, and of course walking along the forbidden paths on the edges of the high cliffs, praying that a strong gust of when wouldn’t blow us over.
Have you ever been to Ireland? Have you been to the Cliffs of Moher? Want to go one day? Would you risk walking along that edge for a photo?

Hey Liz!
Have to say I always keep coming back to your blog. One of the best travel blogs out there! Me and my fiancee are planning a trip to Ireland/England next year and I was wondering what your advice was as far as how to save money while traveling and, probably the most important question, how to see/visit everything we both wanna see within a week and a half! I REALLY wanna see Giants Causeway, Trinity Library, Blarney Castle, the Cliffs of Moher etc, maybe hit up the Lake District in England, and my fiancee really wants to see London for a day or two to see MI6 and Big Ben (he’s a James Bond fan if you didn’t notice) 😉
What would your advice be? Anyway to hit up places without killing ourselves or selling a kidney?
Thanks!
So pretty!! I’m dying to travel somewhere green!
