Happy St. Patrick’s Day! I celebrated last night with friends in one of only two Irish pubs in Logroño. Even though they ran out of Leprechaun hats before we arrived, the night was still a success, filled with lots of Irish music, beer foam mustaches and a lot of glittery green make-up.

As I sipped my Guinness, it reminded me of when I toured the Guinness factory in Ireland four years ago. I spent a week in Ireland in June of 2008 on my way home from studying abroad in Salamanca. I love the Emerald Isle and Irish history and medieval culture (dork moment, perdón) and I can’t wait to go back one day. In the meantime, I’ll put on my green clothes, watch P.S. I Love You, and hop around to Flogging Molly daydreaming about a future trip there.

  1. Hey Liz!

Quick question for ya, I’m planning a trip to Ireland sometime in the spring of 2015, (I’m about to move to Brazil for a yr & a half, that’s why it’s taking so long for me to get out to the emerald isles;)
but I wanted to ask, what are the best unknown, not-to-miss places to see or visit in Ireland? Best food? Best hostels? Best advice? I’ve got a list of things, including Carrickfergus castle & Clare Island as well as Galway, but I’m thinking, there’s soooo many places spread throughout Ireland that I want to go to, how on earth do I get around Northern & the Republic of Ireland without spending an arm & a leg? Anyway, let me know what you think! SO excited for all your adventures!

    p.s.
If you like flogging molly, you should check out the Saw Doctors or the Horslips. those are REAL irish rock bands 😉

  2. I totes made my Sunday better by listening to Flogging Molly while applying for jobs, even though I was not feeling up to going out Saturday night (though the nov and I had store-bought Guinness). I’ve been to Ireland four times and watched Leap Year yesterday, too! Feeling very connected to my County Mayo roots!
